About Me
As a multi-sport athlete and oldest sibling of 4, I bring a multitude of physical and emotional attributes and strengths to any team I play on. Growing up I played many sports such as soccer, baseball, track, and volleyball. As I got older I decided to focus on basketball and volleyball more seriously. During Covid, I was unable to play basketball due to the lockdown restrictions in Toronto and took up beach volleyball as a way to stay in shape and cross-train. A fun fact about me is that in the summer of 2022, I placed 8th in the Canadian National Beach Volleyball Championship while playing a year up.
My time playing beach and indoor volleyball left me with excellent communication skills on the court and a great vertical jump on rebounds. Both are team sports that require clear communication and coordination among teammates as well as being a great source of energy and motivator to my teammates on and off the court. My time playing volleyball also assists me when I’m rebounding and reading where I need to position myself.
I’m the oldest sister of 4 siblings who are all athletes playing their sports at the highest level in Ontario. All my siblings play basketball, creating a fun competitive environment in our house. Playing queens/kings court on the driveway sometimes gets physical, but it has toughened me up on the court teaching me how to be strong and hold my ground. We each push and encourage each other to be the best we can. Whether it be how fast we sprint, how long we can hold a plank, or how many push-ups we can do. My siblings motivate me to excel and set an example.
I would love to use the opportunity of a basketball scholarship to further my education and study to become a doctor. When I was 12 years old I taught myself how to suture together fake skin and would continuously practice on bananas. This hobby later became a stepping stone for a summer job in a dermatology office. I’m looking forward to seeing what my future in basketball brings and all the amazing experiences I can create for myself.
